O: What do you enjoy about being a waitress?

AS: I don’t have to do it. I used to have to do it all the time, so now it’s more like I get to act like a waitress, you know what I mean? I like working with the public, and I like that it’s really hard work. I love working with food, and I love making tips. And the connections: I can get my vanilla wholesale from there.

    snoot.

  2. Dustmote me

I was trying to find a word to express the overwhelming joy I feel at the experience of Amy S.
Seeing her live in a couple of those plays whe talks about is one of the funniest experiences I’ve ever had.

  3. Now you see why she’s on my LJ Interests list, right between “amusement parks” and “andy warhol”. What a sane person.

I like the fact that you both have a thing for bunnies, and both have done special projects for Nest magazine — also on my Interests list.

pandacub’s pullquote from the interview may make her sound like a snob, but the fact is she continued working as a waitress (at Marion’s, a restaurant near me) when she could during all three seasons of Strangers With Candy, because she liked the work, and people — the same reason she bakes cupcakes to sell during intermission of the plays she writes.
