So this is why Sony killed the Clie:

The seem to be betting on a model where the functions of PDAs are split between smarter cell phones on the low end and sub laptops on the high end. Too bad really since all of Palm’s recent products are ass and windows portable or whatever it’s called remains crappy as well.

I guess I’ll never replace my Handspring Visor.

  1. Really? I had a Visor for years, but finally went for the Palm Zire 72. Bluetooth, 1.3MGP camera, multimedia support (SD expansion slots), high res colour screen. Got it 6 months ago and still loving it!

  3. I love my Visor, but I wish it had the flash Ram chip. Then I could upgrade the OS. Most of the cool freeware apps work on a later version, like the video/cartoon player.
    *sigh*

That Vaio looks slick, but 2 grand???? And it runs Windoze. Forget it; I’ll wait ’till I can afford an iTablet, whenever Apple gets around to making one.

  5. Actually, the Clie lives on in Japan, where the product line still exists.

I have recently been using the Blackberry 7100t, which is now the best smart phone I have ever used. It really does everything very well. I just wish there were more programs for it. I can highly recommend this phone.

I am aware that RIM (the company that makes Blackberry) and Sony Ericsson have formed a partnership. Look for a sexy version of the Blackberry to be announced by Sony Ericsson later this year.
