Time for a renewal of the TV fast…

Not that I haven’t learned things:

From The Surreal Life: All that time you watched WWF and thought that X-Pac was a creepy, irritating assclown with little talent you were right. He also seems to be mentally abusive.

FromAdult Swim: Robot Chicken is ok so far, but the new Sunday schedule with two showings of Family Guy bites, strongly.

From SciFi Channel: Poltergiest 3 is a bewildering movie, in some ways pitiably likable. The greatest horror about it is the way that Heather O’Roark was forced to wear her hair in the same way she had in the two previous movies which made her look unhappy and put upon.

  1. I am so in love with Jane from the show. I loved hearing her explain “erotic power exchange”. It does make me very distressed to watch Joanie though.

Step away from the TV. The idiocy is coming from inside the TV.

Seriously agreed on Part II. I think CN is really pushing Family Guy despite the fact that viewers’ contempt for the show seems to be growing daily, due to oversaturation via the DVD’s. I think they’re finally realizing what I already knew all along, that it’s just a shamelessly derivative, needlessly mean-spirited rip-off of The Simpsons.

As for Robot Chicken, well…as with the befuddling Venture Bros., if you don’t get the references, you don’t get the show. And as most of the references on RC seem to be for insipid half-hour toy-commercial cartoons from the 80’s Saturday Morning lineup that I would have refused to watch even if I hadn’t been in the midst of my “I’m too mature to watch cartoons anymore!” indignance, I fear it’s simply not for me.

Lesson learned: don’t, whatever you do, let Seth Green write!

*sigh* Poor Heather O’Roark. Another child actor forced to reiterate a tired catch phrase over and over and over again. The saddest part is, she wound up doing it up until her death. It didn’t help that the quality of the Poltergeist series was something like an inverse logarithmic curve.

Though at least in 3, there was no puking of giant grub-worms.

The original Poltergeist had me thinking, “Can’t sleep, clown will eat me!” 2 was merely silly. 3 was just boring. It’s been so long since I’ve seen any of them, I don’t know how they’d hold up.

We should have a group viewing of Mansquito.
