I know he’s close to my age, but Vincent’s constant use of the phrase “It gets me off!” reminded me of certain art teachers I’ve studied under, with all of the attendant creepy, not-so-hidden sexual innnuendo intact. It was a particular generation for whom the highest compliment they could pay something tied up in the notion that they would fuck it. To hear him use that phrase while he watched a young woman less than half his age stumbling along in a confining dress he made, I dunno – it just skeeves me. As I think it did Michael Kors, who in effect said: yeah well whatever gets you off, fine – but there are some other considerations here.
