There is a time when judicious thought about the world at large won’t get you any closer to making anything. You have to lose your temper and cut to the quick of your situation.

By you I mean me.

When I teach I need to think about the larger issues; to ask questions like what do students need to hear at this point?  But that thinking doesn’t help in the studio.
