Feeling anxious and hemmed about in the #whitetube. I am at Maman, a cafe on Court Street. I’m reading a science fiction novel on a Kindle. My phone is at hand to take notes. And to document the whole thing. I bought this space and time out of the cold by buying an oat milk latte and an apple tart. So I belong here, at least for the few moments until the staff has to decide I’ve overstayed my welcome. They don’t have to worry: I’m on my way to Trader Joe’s to get more coffee and cheese and bananas and then I’m going to Michael’s to buy craft supplies because friends are coming and we will soon be closing out the year with crafting and togetherness and snacks. An explary day in an explary life for today’s bourgeois.
