My first retrospective, a contrarian exhibition styled like a museum show, complete with a recreation of my studio from elsewhere in CalArts’s main building. The title wall was built over a weekend so that the installation came as a big reveal, and the gallery space was converted from how it was commonly known: “The L Shape” into “The N Shape” by building walls and platforms. I included furniture, lamps and clocks that I had built alongside paintings and sculptures.
