Don’t I feel guilty enough as it is?

Aquarius:
Understanding would be ideal, but in the absence of that light bulb going on over your head, you’ll settle for tolerance. This is the best way to hang onto a relationship or situation that truly means something to you. There are many reasons for grasping, but if you fall into selfish patterns, that behavior can only result in loss. Forget your doubts and fears when you get to the bottom line. Abstract constructions with no basis in reality crumble away to nothing under the force of a big hug. It’s so simple. Why didn’t you reach this conclusion a long time ago?

Gott in Himmel! What does it mean when the daily horoscope on my start page rings so true?

In other unrelated news, it’s official: WOOF the film I went to LA to shoot in January will be in the SF Gay and Lesbian film festival, screening as part of the “Fun in Boys’ Shorts” program. Dates, times and venues here.

WOOF also features the talents of djmrswhite and alternacub!

Uh, so call me doof here, man, but wouldn’t guilt qualify as one of those “abstract constructions with no basis in reality?” So by extension, it crumbles away to nothing under the force of…

Perhaps that’s a thought that needn’t be completed in words – actions, after all, speak louder.

  2. You’re no doof. I was being a bit coy with this post: there is a situation with a friend where I’ve behaved badly and I don’t want that to endanger the friendship, but I’m also clinging to to some of my own shopworn behaviors that are for the most part abstract constructions. So i took this as a prod to bite the bullet, and make things right.

And you’re right on the money – my guilt serves to insulate me from the real risks and delight of interaction. So it should probably go.

  3. Woof.

I just get all jazzed when big fuzzy guys talk about the risks and delight of interaction. Wonderful turn of phrase, there.

Insulation is grand, but bearhugs are better.

  5. Ah, the heck with it — I ordered it. 😉

I realized that my XL is actually a little bit baggy, so this should be workable… and I had this mental image of myself wearing that suit, plus my knee high WESCO boots and my leather vest and kepi, and my chaps — with two of the buttons of the rear flap undone, giving a little peek at my furry rump. Oh, and of course I’d be smoking a big black cigar. ;-{)##]

With any luck I’ll eventually have a photograph like that….
